Theresa graduated from the Academy of St. Joseph’s in 1967 and attended University of Maine at Presque Isle. She has owned and operated Frank’s Bake Shop in Bangor, Maine for the last 30 years, in addition to Aqua Pure Water Store from 2005 to present. Theresa is also a certified Body Talk practitioner, synchronizing and balancing the body/mind complexes to the innate wisdom of self healing; as well as a certified Rain-Drop therapist, using non-invasive message and essential oils applications, helping to strengthen the immune system. She has long been active in community support through her business donating to: a wide variety of local agencies, including donation of food to the Bangor Area Homeless Shelter; has given time, food, and resources to a number of local fund raising events; and is active in community enhancement activities.

Through her many years in business, Theresa has employed interns from Community Culinary Arts Schools to fulfill their curriculum development, and has employed numerous individuals with disabilities. She is a volunteer at the Bangor Senior Citizen’s Organization, and been a guest speaker at Husson College, in Bangor Maine, to promote family businesses in Maine. Theresa has long been an ally for those in need, and generously given to dozens of individuals and area non-profits throughout her decades of business in Bangor. She has also supported and done hands on care for many friends and family who have had cancer. – See more at:

It has been my pleasure to work to work with business & government officials in several different states on business & policy development, particularly around healthcare. Locally, having been a Past Chair of the Bangor Region Chamber of Commerce, having spent 15 years on their board as well as 20 years of involvement, I have had an opportunity to participate in a lot of decision making about development of the Bangor Region. I am excited about the progress that the Bangor Region has made in the last few years & am looking forward to further participation.

Dan Bird

IMG_1844Family History & Heritage Research – Heartwood Ridge

Dan’s experience includes 36-years in various roles at the Old Town Pulp Mill in Old Town, Maine, including Director of HR, IT, and Risk Management with responsibility for mills in Old Town and in Gorham, New Hampshire. His diverse experience includes handling all HR, IT, Safety and Risk functions through four successful mill restarts. His strategic and tactical decision making and problem solving, together with his business startup experience, has enabled him to assist in many ways in the fulfillment of Green Gem’s vision.

Throughout his career Dan has held numerous Board positions including roles as Vice President, Secretary, and Treasurer. Dan is currently working to complete a Business and Entrepreneurship degree and is also an avid History, Heritage and Genealogy Researcher with a special interest in helping others discover their cultural and ancestral connections and stories.

Founder of the Green Gem Holistic Healing Oasis, Pilot Project started January 2015 under the supervision of Mentor, Julie Sites and Co-Mentor, Joan Osler as my business internship.

Husson University current Student, BA in Business Management, Hospitality and Tourism. LLBean Wellness Ambassador; Seed to Star, Innovator of Creative Solutions. Graduate of Bangor Region Chamber of Commerce, BRLI Class of 2015.

L.L.Bean experience: Outlet Store Lead/Manager on Duty, Wellness Ambassador, Safety and Wellness Committee, Sunshine Committee Chairman, Quality Coach and Administrative Assistant. Leader in organizing the “most successful OEX day ever” (according to my peers) including 6 hour Outdoor Experience Day in a multitude of Outdoor Heritage activities including: biking, paddle boarding, kayaking, Geocaching, fly fishing, birding, nature walks, zip line and low ropes course, swimming, healthy lunch, team building activities etc. at UMaine Campus for 200+ employees. Nominated by peers as “Bean’s Best”.

Past Ventures: HeArt and Soul, Paint Your Own Pottery, Seed to Star and Coowner of SnapOn Tool Franchise. Volunteered: Windover Art School, Destination Imagination District Coordinator, Fundraising SAD22, BACC, Friends of Edythe Dyer Library, Hampden Children’s Day, St. Paul’s Vacation Bible School; Exhibit Analyst, Water & Music Design Committees, and Capital Campaign Kick Off Committee for the Maine Discovery Museum.

Passionate about healthy lifestyles through heritage practices, especially “Nurture Through Nature” ~ hiking, paddling, pedaling, skiing, snowshoeing, surfing, camping and exploring the outdoors and guiding others on their path. Music, art and culture discovery and creativity.

Stacey Coventry


A Connecticut native, Stacey graduated summa cum laude from Syracuse University in upstate New York in 2004 with concentrations in journalism and sociology. After graduation, she joined Americorps and was placed as a VISTA at Big Brothers Big Sisters of Eastern Maine where she developed youth mentoring programs in both schools and in the community throughout the Greater Bangor region. In 2009, she was named its Program Director and managed program sites in Penobscot, Hancock and Washington counties.

She graduated from Husson University in 2009 with her Masters in Nonprofit Management and began working at the Bangor Humane Society in a professional capacity in 2011. Bringing over 10 years of nonprofit professional experience, she has specialized in advocacy, fundraising, marketing, development, outreach, event coordination, and community and capacity building. Additionally, Stacey has volunteered as a grief facilitator for Pathfinders, a local youth bereavement program, for the last 6 years. She is also a Pet Partners registered therapy dog handler through Silent Sidekicks, a local non-profit that brings the therapeutic benefits of animal companionship to the community. She volunteers with her dog, Koda, in youth literacy programs at local libraries and schools and visits local nursing homes, grief programs, and other community initiatives seeking the animal-human bond as well.

Stacey is passionate about building a wellness community that promotes healing and individual growth through an integrated approach of various healing modalities; particularly through artistic expression, building strong and diverse interpersonal connections, and developing a personal toolbox for self-empowerment. She has a special interest in youth development and connecting people with the healing power of animals.
